De Boekenberg (The Book Mountain) in Spijkenisse.

During my last week in the Netherlands I found some pictures of this gorgeous library on Tumblr. And when I discovered it was only about and hour and a half from my house, I decided to hop on a train with some of my friends to go explore. 
De Boekenberg in Spijkenisse is quite a new library and definitely an eye-catcher. It basically looks like a huge glass pyramid from the outside. Can you image going here as a kid? I'm sure that this will help to make going to the library an exciting adventure. The secret elevators with star-like lights in the ceiling reminded me of Hogwarts and the reading rooms that are hidden inside of the mountain are the best place to hide away with a book for a couple of hours. I wished I lived in Spijkenisse, so I could sit in one of the window seats with a good book on a sunny day. Definitely make some time for a visit when you're in the Netherlands.
