Vapiano in Amsterdam.

I love the Openbare Bibliotheek (public library) in Amsterdam. It's quite a modern building with beautifully designed furniture and massive glass walls. But this library doesn't just contain books, it also houses an Italian restaurant, Vapiano. Now, technically this restaurant isn't part of the library of course, but the library is built around it and you can even look inside the restaurant when you're browsing for some books on the second floor.

Vapiano is spacious, filled with light and has a very simple design. The ordering system, however, is a bit of a shock for first time customers. When you walk in, you get handed something that basically resembles a bank card. You pick your own table and then go up to the different food stations, offering them your card every time. Once you've ordered you get one of those small blinking machines that will light up when your food is ready. At the end of your meal you go downstairs and pay for everything. No more issues trying to split the bill! This payment system, the beautiful location and the forrest of rosemary plants make it the perfect place for a casual lunch or dinner.

I've only had the chance to go to this gorgeous restaurant twice, but I recently discovered that there is a Vapiano close to Oxford Circus. I can't wait to take my friends there and order some delicious tiramisu (and bread, oh my, the bread).
