Check out these gorgeous books! There's actually a bit of a story behind them. I originally received The Horologicon by Mark Forsyth in the mail because it was offered to me for review. This book is a journey through the day based on lost words and their entertaining definitions, with appropriate words for every situation you might encounter. I really enjoyed reading it and even did some giggling in public. I reminded me a lot of Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K. Jerome, a book that also caused me to embarrass myself in public. And that's as far as my review will go for now, boys and girls, because I will be uploading a video review next week.
Now you might be wondering why I have pictures of an entire stack of Horologicons. No, I didn't go on some crazy book shopping spree. I'm currently doing a two-week internship at Icon Books and of course they have boxes and boxes full of books at their office. I've had some fun and intern-y assignments so far, such as going to the bank, checking books for printing mistakes and picking up packages. And sometimes I get to do stuff I would usually be doing at home anyway, like organising shelves on GoodReads for hours on end and doing a book photoshoot. Next week will be extra exciting, since The Horologicon will be BBC Radio 4's Book of the Week and all PR will be in full swing. So if we're doing a good job, these pictures won't be the only time you'll get to see this book in the next few weeks.

Oh wow, your internship sounds so cool. I hope to be able to do something like that in a couple of years. Ben nu nog eventjes bezig met Film- en Literatuurwetenschappen in Leiden ;)
Your internship looks awesome! I hope you're having a lot of fun!
These books sound ridiculously too interesting! (But I love words.) I would love you forever if you worked some of those old words & definitions into a post! Following now in eager anticipation!
